Inquiry ordered over builder’s ad on selling wakf land in AP

HYDERABAD: Worried over the real estate advertisement on selling the alleged wakf land in Maheswaram, the AP State Waqf Board (APSWB) has ordered an inquiry into the matter.

The advertisement by Pride India Builders (PIB) appeared in regional language newspapers which has information about selling plots and independent houses in an approved layout. The advertisement however, fails to mention the survey numbers.

Wakf officials said that the land parcel could be a part of 428 acres endowed to Muslim Maternity Hospital. They said that they had contacted PIB to make enquiries about the survey numbers, nature and extent of land but were asked to meet the officials concerned in person.

When contacted APSWB chief executive officer Abdul Hameed said, "We were informed of the advertisement. I have instructed wakf inspector Mohammed Sanaullah to look into the matter and a report will be ready soon. We have asked for survey numbers and extent of land."

According to waqf officials, the land parcel mentioned in the ad could be a part of 428 acres endowed to a maternity hospital.
