Trade Opportunities Galore at CONNEX India 2012




CONNEX India 2012, the exhibition on Construction Equipment in Northern India, will be held in Greater Noida from September 12-15. Organised by ASAPP EXXPO, the exhibition arm of ASAPP Media Information Group, the expo will showcase construction equipments, road equipments, material handling equipments, mining equipments, components, spares, and accessories & attachments etc.

Spread over an area of 1,00,000 sq m, construction equipment manufactures from USA, UK, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Turkey, UAE, China, Japan, Australia, Russia, etc would showcase their products along with Indian counterparts. The show also will witness the presence of more than 1200 exhibitors from 12 countries with 50,000 visitors expected to visit the four-day event.

Along with CONNEX India, 10th Construction World Annual Awards (12 Sept 2012), 2nd edition of Equipment India Conference (12-13 Sept, 2012) and Infrastructure Today leadership Summit (14-15 Sept 2012), would be concurrently held.

Opportunity for Indian Construction Equipment Industry

The construction equipment industry in India has witnessed consistent double digit CAGR growth over the past few years and with impetus and support from the government it is poised for an unprecedented CAGR of around 18% during FY 2011 – FY 2014. The estimated size of the industry by then would be US $15 billion. By 2020, India is expected to be the dominant market for global construction equipment industry.

Over the last few years, global players have identified the India opportunity and various new entrants made inroads into the Indian construction equipment industry. Also, a number of domestic companies have also expanded their capacities and diversified their product portfolios. This has contributed to making the industry more competitive and fragmented.

Among Indian cities, New Delhi has emerged as a major hub for the industry. The capital city houses all the public sector enterprises. In India, public sector companies are huge and constitute the major part of infrastructure industry. It is also the hub of construction activity for the entire north and eastern regions of the country. With projects worth almost Rs 24,000 crore with 60% of them yet to start execution, the region presents an estimated business opportunity of Rs. 350,000 crore to the construction equipment industry.
