Lotus Green developers go all 'green' at their office


New Delhi: Realty developer  Lotus Green has become the first real estate company in India to make its office environment completely 'Carbon Neutral', claimed the firm.

The organisation has been awarded a certificate by a well known carbon offsets agency in recognition of the initiatives taken by it in this direction, an IBNS report said quoting company sources.

Recently, the company has completed the project of planting 21,000 saplings on the periphery of Sariska Tiger Reserve in the ecologically sensitive Aravalli Hills located in Alwar, Rajasthan to limit and balance the usage of natural resources like timber, a high demand commodity for real estate sector.

P Sahel, Vice Chairman and Co-Promoter, Lotus Group said," We believe in responsible urbanization and latest green initiative will help maintain the biodiversity of the oldest mountain range on Earth.

"Prioritising ecological balance and minimising damage to the environment is actually the only way to promote and sustain real estate development.We have not been lacking in taking singular initiatives at the community level as well," he added.

As part of its green initiatives, Lotus Green uses recycled products and stationery for all its official work, and is encouraging its employees to make use of public transport for conveyance.

The real estate developer which has embarked on the mission to be a 100 percent green company joins the niche group of global multinational giants like Microsoft, Woodland and Lamborghini who aim to cut down on their carbon footprint by 2015.
