Over 90000 visitors at MCHI-CREDAI Property show

Mumbai: MCHI-CREDAI Property 2013 which concluded recently here has seen a massive footfall as 90,000 'happy' prospective customers thronged the property show during April 11-14.

According to senior authorities of Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI-CREDAI), developers and buyers struck several deals, including spot bookings, during the exhibition. The premier property show also witnessed good enquiry for luxury properties as more and more people are keen to experience global living standards and life style, MCHI officials added. As such, the leading developers were inundated with site-visit requests from potential customers.

Paras Gundecha, President, MCHI-CREDAI, said, "The property show with the theme ‘Mumbai makes me happy’ was a success. We received innumerable enquiries from potential customers on properties that were priced rightly. One and two BHK flats, in particular, generated huge enquiries. The huge number of walk-ins on all four days and decent booking figures has confirmed that substantial demand for housing existed in various categories at numerous locations across the country. It gives us great pleasure that we have managed to change the perception of analysts and critics. Importantly, the exhibition has added optimism among every stakeholder of the real estate sector."

Bandish Ajmera, Chairman of the exhibition committee, said, "I am particularly happy that this year's exhibition drew a quality crowd and serious buyers. This year, our special amenities included an enormous cafeteria, a conference hall, a luxurious VIP Lounge, and even a kids' zone to look after the children. It was the collective effort of the team that transformed the MMRDA exhibition hall into a swanky business centre."

The timing of the exhibition was a significant contributor to its success. The four-day property extravaganza was carefully designed to include holidays such as Gudi Padva and the second Saturday (a government holiday), which translated into a long weekend for interested visitors and prospective buyers. The relative ease in entering the premises was another enabling factor. Organisers said that entry was completely hassle-free despite the huge footfalls. Online registration helped a lot to avoid the rush, they added.

Manju Yagnik, Co-Chairperson of the exhibition committee, commented, "We are extremely happy with the response of the Mumbaikars to the country's largest realty exhibition. The MCHI CREDAI Property 2013 was a great success. The two informative seminars - Prospects India 2013- Decoding the Property Buyer of tomorrow and Mumbai Makeover- Redevelopment - also earned a lot of applause. I can now proudly say that the whole event has cast a positive spell on the real estate industry across India. We are sure that it will lead to a buying spree in the sector."

Pratik Patel, Co-Chairman of the exhibition committee, added, "The exhibition turned into a carnival as home buyers had the unique experience of looking at over 15,000 property offerings and take an informed decision. We are confident that many home buyers and developers will now engage over the next few days to complete the process."

The 21st edition of the MCHI-CREDAI Property 2013 was inaugurated by Maharashtra Housing Minister Sachin Bhau Ahir on the auspicious day of Gudi Padva. Co-organized by State Bank of India, the event witnessed the participation of over 102 real estate developers who showcased more than 15,000 properties by across Thane, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and several other locations.

The mega-event event showcased properties ranging from 1/2/3/4/5 BHK along with studio apartments, duplex, penthouses, row houses, bungalows, second homes/holiday homes, NA plots, shops, and office premises with conveniences at par with international standards.

Among the leading property developers that participated in this exhibition were Ajmera Realty, Nahar Group, RNA Corp, Ekta World, India Bulls Real Estate, Hiranandani Constructions, Hubtown, Kalpataru, Kanakia Spaces, Lodha Group, Nirmal Lifestyle, Rajesh Lifespaces, Rustomjee, and Shree Naman Group.

NRIs flock MCHI property show in Dubai

DUBAI: The 15th edition of the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry’s (MCHI) India Realty Expo Dubai has been concluded successfully here producing good response from genuine buyers, according to exhibitors and the organiser.

This is right time for non-resident Indians, or NRIs, to buy properties back home as the current exchange rate of the US dollar to the Indian rupee makes home buying at more discounted rate, they said.

The MCHI provides a safe and secure platform to the Indian expatriates as they explored the vast opportunities available in the Indian real estate industry, especially in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

“MCHI’s self regulation and transparent manner of functioning was reflected in the confidence levels reposed by NRI visitors to the event. As a result, the event had many serious buyers,” MCHI exhibition committee chairman Bandish Ajmera said.
The three-day show had witnessed 2,832 NRIs visiting various stalls and enquired about the properties and some have even booked on the spot. “The global currency market movements in the recent weeks have made Indian real estate very lucrative for NRIs, and we were hoping that serious buyers would take advantage of the same — and they did,” MCHI co-chairperson Manju Yagnik told Khaleej Times, adding, “We are showcasing the biggest township with quite a number of buildings.”

Yagnik, who is also the vice-chairperson of the Nahar Group, said the company has done quite a few bookings during the show. The event opened with visits by serious buyers, and this was consistent throughout the event period, she added.

The Nahar Group will offer Pune and Chennai properties soon to the NRI community in Dubai first, she said, adding that this will be done even before its launch in India.
“Leading developers have showcased residential and commercial properties, plots and bungalows from across the MMR as also a select few other cities,” MCHI exhibition committee co-chairperson Dipesh Bhagtani said.

Bhagtani, who is also director at Jaysee Homes, said the company is showcasing seven under construction projects and three upcoming projects. “Some projects are at the final stage,” he added.

The event was inaugurated by P Rajgopalan, head of chancery at the Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi.
