In a day-long inauguration spree Hooda laid the foundation stones
of Research and Development facility of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, a
two-wheeler plant of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd and projects of
Nippon Carbide, Sabarkantha Cooperative - a unit of Amul Dairy, Lakshmi
Precision Screws Ltd and Aisin Automotive Haryana Pvt Ltd in Rohtak.
Hooda also inaugurated the second plant of M/s Asian Paints Limited and a
blending and bottling plant.
Seven major industrial units, bringing in investment of around Rs 4,700 crore to the state, were inaugurated on Monday by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at Industrial Model Township (IMT), Rohtak. Haryana government claimed that the projects are expected to generate 40,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
While addressing a gathering at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh, IMT Rohtak, Hooda described the day as a new mile stone for the state. “We aim to bring industrial revolution to the state and make it an educational hub of international standard. The industries would provide direct employment to 7,500 to 10,000 people and indirect employment to 20,000 to 30,000 people, which makes it a satisfactory day for me,” Hooda said.
Hooda also inaugurated Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR) managed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, in Rohtak. The institute is being opened with an aim to promote road safety in the country. IDTR, Rohtak is expected to train over 20,000 people in safe driving annually.
