Interstate Hotels adds two more hotels to its fold


Interstate Hotels & Resorts recently announced that the company has expanded its signed and managed hotels portfolio in India to 13 with the addition of The Turtle on the Beach and Estuary Island Resort, both owned by Thomas Hotels and Resorts.

“Since introducing our dedicated, owner-focused hotel management platform in India in 2008 with our joint venture partner, JHM, we have gained significant momentum.The hotel real estate industry in India is emerging rapidly and we are uniquely positioned as a quality operating partner experienced with leading international brands, ground-up construction, and landmark independent hotels and resorts,” said Jim Abrahamson, CEO, Interstate Hotels & Resorts on the sidelines of the 8th annual Hotel Investment Conference South Asia (HICSA) in Mumbai.

He further said, “India plays a key role in our global strategy, and we have the scale, resources, proprietary systems and experienced operators to benefit owners of both individual hotels and multi-hotel portfolios. We currently have 13 hotels managed or signed in top-tier markets throughout the country besides a strong foundation for future expansion.”

In addition to several announced projects, including the recently opened, five-star Rajasthali Resort and Spa in Jaipur, JHM Interstate Hotels India, a joint-venture between Interstate Hotels & Resorts and JHM Hotels, is in the process of converting two hotels to the Ramada brand. These are Madhuban Hotel Dehradun and the Madhuban Highlands Mussoorie. It has also executed management agreements for a 140-room four-star hotel in Gurgaon, Haryana and the 65-room, five-star Bahra Mountain Resort and Spa Mashobra, according to a press release.
