Green Tree Homes brings slice of Greece to Chennai

Chennai: The city on Wednesday witnessed yet another villa launch, this time by Green Tree Homes and Ventures, who has come up with “Greenn Athens’, an exquisite villa community located between fast developing East Coast Road (ECR) and Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR).

According to Pon Ravichandran, director, Green Tree Homes, “Greenn Athens would bring about the look and feel of the ancient city of Greece with modern facilities. The Greco-Mediterranean architecture in neo-classical styles with an amalgamation of green construction is what comes to life in this project, which will be completed in 18 months.”

Spread over 3.16 acre of land, the project will have 40 independent villas, with equal number of swimming pools (for each villa) and elevators, which connect the parking lot to the terrace of each villa. The residents also will have ample parking space for more than 120 vehicles. The uniqueness of the project is however the Greek architecture and two bridges connecting the staircase to the first floor of the tenement. To bring out the aesthetic ancient Greek architecture, the company has opted to have the entire project in pure white interlaced with leafy emblems.

Each villa covers a spacious area of about 5000 sq ft with an exclusive terrace, swimming pool and private elevator to carry elderly from ground to first or second floor room.

“Since it is located nearer to IT and entertainment corridors, we are targeting people who are in higher brackets and are looking for second home or weekend home,” said Ravichandran, who adds, “The idea behind this project was to create the epitome of luxury breaks out from the bustle of the city. We have put in the best architectural minds to bring the feel of history with modernism.”

With teak wood doors and windows, imported marble skirting in living rooms, rustic tiles on the balconies, laminated wooden flooring in bedrooms, granite, ceramic title and the best in class kitchen and toilet fittings, Greenn Athens is a dream home come true, adds Dinesh Ethiraj another director and the main architect of the project.

Giving details about their earlier and upcoming projects, Ravichandran further said, “Green 201, our earlier project in Siruseri, is in progress as necessary project approvals are in place. Greenn Athens is our second project. We are also coming up with a few projects in the coming months. One will be on the Poonamalle High Road, which will be a high-rise project having more than 400 apartments. Another one will be a housing board re-developmental project located next to Korattur-Padi junction near Lucas TVS. This will be a 200 apartment complex. We are also coming up with a 47 acre township at Thiruvallur.”

Having more than 60 per cent open space for greenery, each villa in Greenn Athens is priced at Rs 6000 per sq ft and costing about Rs 3 crore.

  1. This sounds magnificent, too bad I'll never own a home there. Hahaha!! Looks fantastic though, would love to see more pictures of the actual landscape, not the white buildings.
