CHENNAI: The Confederation of Real Estate
Developers' Association of India known as CREDAI has signed a memorandum of
understanding (MOU) with the Chennai Corporation, agreeing to maintain 12
important roads in the city. CREDAI is a body of private real estate
developers.
The agency has agreed to clean the 12 roads, fix
sign boards, maintain medians and traffic islands and ensure that posters and
banners do not come up. The 12 roads are namely Purasawakkam High Road, Vepery
High Road, Gangadeswarar Koil Street, Gandhi-Irvin Road, Raja Annamalai Road,
Narayana Guru Road, Jothi Venkatachalam Road, E V K Sampath Road, Pantheon
Road, Raja Muthiah Road, Police Commissioner Road and Whannels Road.
The organization will employ garbage cleaners,
gardeners and other staff required for the above. They will also fix clock
towers for 20 corporation gardeners.
“This is part of our CSR initiatives. We are
committed to give back to society. As a developers’ community, we have expertise in building parks, maintain them,
building payments, making good bus shelters, and also engage leading architects
to give basic common amenities for people. We are quite focused to take up this
initiative and thankful to authorities giving this opportunity,” says Sandeep
Mehta, President CREDAI Chennai.
